Last week, I witnessed an accident which could have been avoided totally if the drivers involved had been more patient on the road. It was almost like foreplay, leading up to the actual incident.The traffic light turned red, everyone stopped at the junction. As the lights went green, everyone pulled off, much like the Grand Prix. I was on lane 3 and it was to merge with lane 4 after the junction….A Matrix was following me behind.
A taxi joined the moving traffic from a slip road before the merging behind me, came side by side with the Matrix. Matrix driver revved his engine, stick to me real close, taxi driver revved his engine, wanting to cut the Matrix.
I watched in amazement as it repeated a few times…Then moved on as the cars before me pulled off. Suddenly, in a split second, Matrix surged forwarded and cut in front of taxi, taxi did that too, half a nanoseconds late and banged into Matrix's back!
From my rear view mirror, I saw the Matrix driver getting off his car and gesturing. Rest of the cars were all held up in the busy morning traffic.
I watched in amusement as I pulled away, glad that I wasn't following behind those jokers, shaking my head.
Moral of the story : Do not play play with Martix drivers….haha! Wrong! Be more patient on the road and you will have a more pleasant journey yourself.
